I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California (LMFT50492). I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, a holistic program combining Western contemporary psychology, cultural and social sciences research, and wisdom from the world’s spiritual traditions.
I have advanced training in several theoretical orientations and therapeutic modalities. However, my approach is most influenced by psychoanalytic psychotherapy – a therapeutic process that explores one's inner and relational landscapes to increase self-awareness as well as create growth and change related to any motivations, adaptations, or inner conflicts that may underlie present difficulties.
At times, I may draw upon humanistic and existential psychologies, strategic and structural family therapies, systems theory, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy. My expertise also includes various evidenced-based practices, or research-supported treatment models that are client-centered, dynamic, and results-oriented.
My professional affiliations include the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Santa Barbara Chapter of CAMFT.
